Interns’ Report
5:10 Ellie-Both bands last week cancelled, but both are rescheduling. // Was absent for open mic last week—sorry! Will be present this week. // Not this but NEXT Wednesday will be Hip Hop Open Mic. // New event: First Comedy Night 19th of February—3rd Friday every month, headlined by mysterious funny people. *coughvendolacough* // Snowflake Ball February 27th // Fire the Goat, and maybe other bands, will be playing a benefit show here soon for Haiti. Date TBA soon.
5:14 Anna-Drawing up budgets, figuring out social services themes for each month. February is mental health month—movies will be about mental health, there will be grilled cheese sandwiches. Other plans in progress—they depend on money coming through.
5:18 Elena-Potlucks monthly from now on. Not at the BR—at management, interns’ and board members’ houses! February date TBA. It will be at Cara’s house.// Wanting to schedule tabling at the Co-op Alcove days in Feb. Who wants to help? Spencer, Ellie, Rich, Shannon, Amy, and Becky do.// Symbols meeting after this meeting.// Still working on contact list. // Writer’s group is getting cooler—new potential facilitators will be coming this week.
Manager’s Report
5:28 Fill out coffeehouse applications! This is your last chance. Steve and Ellie and Cara and Kiri & Autumn will be on the hiring committee. // Incident Reports have been made. When things go down, write it up. Anytime you have to ask someone to leave, or anytime there’s a problem that might need to be kept in records, please fill one of these forms out and put it in the lock box when completed. They will be in the log book. // Food Handler’s Cards—get em! // Power of Hope is offering a Creative Facilitation workshop for teens in Seattle on February 20th and 21st. If you want to go, let Cara know soon! The deadline to apply is February 1st. This might be the beginning of training some of our kids as Boiler Room Facilitator/Mediators. // Does everyone know how to run a z-tape and zero out? Key should be turned to X1Z1, and dot-cash needs to be pressed twice in a row.// Monday, February 8th, 3pm, block cleaning party. Water Street is donating french fries to those who help.
Board’s Report
5:44 Amy-Strategic Planning Committee will be meeting at the BR, February 2nd, from 4:30 to 5:30. Get in there on time if you want to be a part of it, because anyone can be there but once it starts our doors will be locked until it’s over. The topic discussed will be: What’s important when choosing a new manager?
