5:10 Reading of the Log book by Cara
Issues discussed:
5:12 Half and half. Do we let customers pour it themselves? If it’s in its own pitcher, they can pour it. If it’s in the half and half container, you must pour it yourself to avoid contamination from their hands.
5:15 Patrons struggling with alcoholism—really sad stuff happened last week. A patron had to be taken to the hospital. We’re glad we were able to be there for him and keep him safe.
Interns’ Reports
5:26 Ellie- Hip hop open mic this Wednesday at 8, next Tuesday (2/9/10) there will be snowflake making party starting with art group at 3, on the 26th there will be a benefit concert. The money will go to Doctors Without Borders in Haiti.
5:30 Elena- Potluck for all volunteers at Cara’s house on Friday 12th 5:30-7:30! Co-op folks want to donate food to that and have it be connected to education in some way. Can various folks take turns presenting info that co-op folk will provide? Autumn wants to go first. // We want volunteers to make a co-op tabling date for February. Tiara, Kiri, and Kaelin want to do it. One more volunteer willing to trade shifts with them halfway is needed.// RIkki Ducornet came to our last writer’s group—she is awesome. Still looking for people willing to lead between now and when her and some other folk have clearer schedules. // Drawing for $10 to Waterfront! Eilena wins.
5:34 Anna- Benny & June this week for movie night—it’s about a schizophrenic person in love with Johnny Depp. // On Thursday at 3, Tobacco Sessions is meeting. Everyone who comes and brings their own shirt gets a cool “I only smoke when I’m on fire” patches to iron onto their clothes.
Manager’s Reports
5:37 Strategic Planning Meeting—you all need to be here for the discussion about what is important in a new manager!! The door will be locked from 4:30-5:30, though—be there on time. // Next week, on Monday the 8th, we’re doing a block party clean up. Those who participate will be treated to free Water Street French fries and maybe other food too! // We’ve raised $55 for Doctors Without Borders. // Bowl Fundraiser, 21st of February. We need people to make soup. // Comedy night is going to be 3rd Friday of every month. Therefore, on Feb 19th, be there or be …bored. // Boileroke this Wednesday. // Symbols meeting after staff meeting was great—another one’s happening tonight at 6, to figure out how to put our ideas into practice.
