If you choose to volunteer at the Boiler Room - your efforts will benefit not only the local youth, but the whole community, for the Boiler Room plays an integral role in making Jefferson County a more wholesome place to live. Over the years the Boiler Room has affected many lives, literally saving some of them.The BR is a place where you can make a difference. The Boiler Room provides many ways to get involved. First and foremost, you can volunteer to work shifts. If you know nothing about making espresso shots, running a cash register or closing the cafe up for the day - do not fret! We have a training program - you will be guided step-by-step through the process, and before you know it - you will be a pro! In fact, this is a great opportunity to learn and test out your skills in a real business environment.If you like gardening and working with plants and flowers - the Boiler Room has a small garden area that desperately needs more love and care! May be your strong suit is web design or you are passionate about baking - let us know! Almost anything you really care about can become a part of your Boiler Room volunteering experience.The Boiler Room is always changing, but at its core it has managed to retain its identity as a place that provides incredible opportunity for almost anyone with imagination, heart and a little (and at times a little more!) patience to make amazing things happen.
